Chris Callahan is the Founder & President of Startup Palm Beach, an initiative for an Entrepreneur Resource Center in West Palm Beach, FL. Chris is focused on supporting an ecosystem for entrepreneurship in South Florida. Chris is a key organizer of Entrepreneur Week and Startup Weekend West Palm Beach.
Chris is interested in investing time, energy and capital in technology and real estate. Chris is determined to have a local impact, encouraging people to follow their instincts and pursue their dreams.
Chris is co-founder of Surfr App, a mobile app for iPhones that helps surfers log their data from surfing sessions and share information with friends.
Chris is a supporter of Share the Stoke Foundation, a nonprofit helping bring surf gear to children in destitute coastal locations. Chris is also an advocate for Make A Difference NOW, an educational nonprofit promoting disadvantaged youth in secondary schools in India and Tanzania, and a former Board Member of Flourish Foundation, geared towards teaching mindful awareness to students in elementary and high school.
Chris attended Palm Beach Day School, Phillips Academy Andover and Georgetown University. Chris graduated from Georgetown in 2005, earning a Bachelor of Arts in both Government and Spanish. Chris is currently running the day-to-day operations of Startup Palm Beach and recruiting talented designers and engineers from around the globe. Chris was recently granted a scholarship from MIT to attend MIT Global Startup Workshop in Marrakech, Morocco, where he participated in the Elevator Pitch Competition. Chris won an award from his local coffee shop for "Most likely to be in a Colgate commercial" because he's almost always smiling.
